Journey From Disconnection to Understanding
Healing the Way We Love
For couples and individuals who carry the weight of heritage, history, and hope—and still long to feel understood.
About Me
Hi, I’m Yafah Franco, LMFT, a licensed psychotherapist passionate about helping people navigate the complexities of love—within themselves and with others. Whether you're struggling to connect with a partner, feeling unseen in your family, or overwhelmed by the pressures of being everything to everyone, I’m here to walk alongside you.
I specialize in working with couples, individuals, and families who are facing relationship challenges shaped by culture, trauma, identity, and generational expectations.
I speak English, Spanish, studied at a French high school, and Russian in College, allowing me to connect deeply across diverse communities.
I’m especially attuned to the experiences of first-generation individuals, immigrant families, and multicultural or interfaith couples.
My approach draws from the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), psychodynamic insight, and DBT, depending on your unique needs.
I also offer walk-and-talk therapy for clients who feel more grounded processing emotions through movement and nature.

Dating Patterns • Attachment Styles • Breakups • Infidelity
Romantic love can be one of the most meaningful—and most challenging—parts of our lives. Whether you’re navigating the early stages of dating, working through repeated patterns, healing from a breakup, or in a long-term relationship facing conflict, I offer a supportive and nonjudgmental space to explore your relational world. In couples therapy, I help partners move from disconnection to deeper understanding, using tools rooted in emotional attunement, communication, and trust repair. We may explore attachment styles, family-of-origin influences, and how old wounds show up in present dynamics. If you’re working through betrayal or infidelity, we’ll carefully tend to the pain while helping you decide what healing looks like for you. My goal is to help you feel more empowered, emotionally connected, and secure in love—whether you’re building it with someone else or reclaiming it for yourself.
Self-worth • Confidence • Body Image • Boundaries • Inner Child Work
Loving yourself isn’t always intuitive—especially if you've been shaped by criticism, unrealistic expectations, or emotionally unavailable caregivers. In our work together, we’ll explore the roots of your self-worth and begin to untangle the shame, inner narratives, and patterns that have kept you feeling small, insecure, or not enough. Together, we’ll build a more affirming relationship with yourself—one rooted in self-compassion, curiosity, and truth.
Parent Dynamics • Sibling Conflict • Generational Patterns • Narcissistic Parents
Family love often holds both connection and pain. You may care deeply about your family, yet feel burdened by roles, boundaries, or emotional wounds that have never fully healed. If you're navigating complex dynamics—especially in first-generation or multicultural families—we’ll explore how your early experiences shaped your sense of identity, loyalty, and love. Whether it’s healing from a narcissistic parent, managing sibling tension, or learning how to stay connected while setting boundaries, therapy can support you in finding peace without losing your voice.
