My Approach
Healing Through the Lens of Love
Love can be deeply healing—but when it’s misunderstood, withheld, or tangled in pain, it can also leave us feeling lost, unworthy, or alone. I’ve seen both sides of love in my work, in my community, and in my own life.
Love is at the center of so much of our emotional life—from how we see ourselves to how we connect with others. In my practice, I help clients explore the many dimensions of love: self-love, romantic love, family love, and even the love we give (and sometimes lose) in friendships or work relationships. Whether you’re seeking therapy as an individual or a couple, you’re invited into a space where your emotional world is honored, your story is held with care, and your growth is supported.
I draw from several evidence-based approaches to guide our work:
-
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to strengthen attachment and emotional responsiveness
-
Gottman Method to help couples improve communication, manage conflict, and build trust
-
Psychodynamic Therapy to uncover and work through unconscious patterns rooted in your past
-
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation, mindfulness, and boundary setting.
Therapeutic Approach: How I Work
-
Culturally sensitive and inclusive
-
Evidenced-based practices
-
A balance of insight, emotional support, and skill-building
-
In-person, walk-and-talk, or online
As a first-generation daughter of Latin American immigrants, I know what it’s like to bridge multiple worlds—cultural values, language barriers, and unspoken emotional expectations. I’ve witnessed the ways love is expressed, silenced, distorted, and fought for. These personal experiences fuel my dedication to helping others find clarity and compassion in their relationships—especially when love feels like it’s slipping away.
Therapy with me is a space to lay down what’s heavy, speak what’s been hidden, and start rewriting the patterns that keep you stuck. I offer a steady presence and compassionate challenge—holding your truth with warmth, while helping you move toward growth.
In couples therapy, individual work or family therapy, I help you make sense of loyalty, guilt, independence, and the pressure to “get it right.” Together, we’ll work toward a version of love that honors your background while empowering you to choose how you want to love and be loved now.
Walk-and Talk
In my practice, walk-and-talk therapy is more than just movement—it's a therapeutic approach that supports emotional release, regulation, and reflection. When we engage the body through walking, we often access emotions and insights that feel harder to reach in a traditional office setting. For clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or simply more at ease in motion, walking side-by-side outdoors can reduce pressure and invite a natural flow to the conversation. This approach is especially supportive for processing emotions stored in the body, reducing anxiety, and building mind-body awareness in a safe, grounded way.
